This list is devoid of class analysis, which is completely fair TBTH. This capitalist workers' party is 95% market and 5% socialish. Time for serious discussion of running open class-struggle candidates like the Victorian Socialists in Australia. Maybe interview one of their organizers?
A lot of social democrats don't want to talk about class analysis because they would run smack into the economic and political constraints of neoliberalism. (If they don't read Marx because he's an old dead white guy, they should at least look at the Grace Blakeley.)
Also,I 'm tired of the division between politicians who talk lefter-than-left but walk to the right, and centre leftists who sometimes get something good actually done!!
Right now I would be torn between Angus and McPherson.
None of these folks are willing to admit that their party is opposed to class struggle. Find a candidate who will embrace class struggle AND organize an army of thousands of volunteers who will leave with them if the party brass blocks them...maybe then workers have a chance to fight electorally. More importantly, workers will have the power to fight on picket lines and in communities for social goods. More Kshama Sawant, less Zohran Mamdani.

My first question to any of them would be what's your position on the genocide in Gaza. Pretty good litmus test, I'd say. (And brava, ms. McPherson)
Honestly difficult to tell how serious this list is when Ruth Ellen Brosseau is on it.
Charlie Angus could be a very interesting choice. Not sure about Plante, it seems to be mostly rumours from the right so far, no?
Definitely not just from the right. Last year, a member of the NDP caucus told me Plante might run.
As for Brosseau, she was the face of the Orange Wave. I don’t think she’ll win, but I wouldn’t be surprised if she ran.
Interesting re: Plante, had no idea it went that far back!
We shall see about Brosseau, I'll bring the popcorn.
