10 Stories the Orchard Broke in 2024
To convince you to become a paid subscriber, I've compiled a list of Orchard exclusives from this year. It turns out there were quite a few.
I really hate writing fundraising emails. As someone who’s financially precarious himself, I find it hard asking people for money.
But a man’s gotta eat, so I figured I would remind you, dear reader, of the sort of work you’re supporting when you sign up as a paid subscriber.
I went through all my stories from the past 12 months and identified 10 pieces of reporting that could be reasonable identified as Orchard exclusives, with the most recent having been published last week.
I’d like to believe my one-man Orchard newsroom punches well-above its weight. If you agree, please do consider becoming a paid subscriber.
If you want to do a one-time donation, you can do so here.
Of these 10 stories, three were picked up by mainstream news outlets, only one of which identified the Orchard as the first to report it.
While getting snubbed by the mainstream media can be a source of great frustration and resentment on my part, it is what it is. In retrospect, I’m glad the news is getting out there.
So again, if you saw value in stories like these, please consider becoming a paid subscriber. In addition to supporting my work, you’ll get access to full Orchardcast episodes and commenting privileges.
And if you want to give a one-time donation, you can buy me a proverbial coffee below.
Great Journalism by a great journalist!
Keep up the good work, Thank you!
