Cam Welch and I went on the Rob Rousseau Show on April 1 to discuss our weekend in Winnipeg and the mainstream media meltdown over Avi Lewis’s leadership win.
We have given neo liberal economic theory 50 years to make their case. Is life better for workers? Is healthcare better? Has neoliberalism given us affordable housing?
I'm ready to listen to someone offering an alternative view.
We've not only given them all this time.....we've created a bunch of old white men and middle aged, mostly blonde gals who repeat their nonsense. Demonization and superficial bashing is what they do best.......so boring I can barely turn on my TV.
But they do have to work their jaws overtime to convince people under 40 that affordable 'NON MARKET' housing and free public education is not only a bad thing.......but a demented idea one has to laugh off the stage.
South of the border we have a toxic free marketeer getting richer off being president, and starting wars he can't finish to further impoverish the working people..........and Avi Lewis and the NDP are 1. ridiculous, 2. crazy and 3. a threat to our casino economy???
It's informative of where we are, and who we've got running the show that not only is respect for ideas low on the mainstream list........but trashing your opponents ideas is considered good political commentary.
