The common level of paranoia these people share is as striking as the issues themselves, most of which rational people would consider "arcane," but there's also an AVIDITY about them despite most of them being solutions LOOKING FOR PROBLEMS, like voter fraud for example. So THESE are the hills they would die on, these petty, mean-spirited restrictions on basic personal freedoms that have naturally evolved in our modern, democratic society?

I think much of the basic WEIRDNESS can be understood in the context of the alternate reality that people who identify as "true believers/evangelicals" occupy as strong adherents of tradition generally, and of religious doctrines.

This all presents the problem of separating church and state, i.e. SECULARISM that modernity supposedly subscribes to.

Is it possible that when David Parker talks about "taking back Alberta," it's FROM secularism and modernity?

Talk about a "trojan horse".....
