For Alberta Native News, I wrote about the B.C. Union of Indian Chiefs calling on the federal government to proactively update access to information and privacy legislation to make it easier for First Nations to access government documents on residential schools and historical land claims.
I also wrote a piece about a provincially funded recovery community planned near Métis Crossing. While First Nations have expressed concern that the province’s addictions recovery plan was developed without any Indigenous input, the Métis Nation of Alberta doesn’t seem to mind.
