At the Progress Report, I continued my series of exclusive stories on the big bucks publicly funded health providers are shelling out to private nursing agencies, revealing that Covenant Care is paying nearly $110 an hour to hire private registered nurses at its continuing care facilities. This is more than double the hourly wage of its most senior in-house RNs, but the Catholic health-care provider admits it doesn’t know how much of it is pocketed by the agencies.
