ICYMI: Dec. 1-7
Your weekly roundup and blogroll.
Hey everybody! Just a heads up that I’m planning on increasing the price of subscriptions in the new year to $8 a month, or $88 a year.
Since starting this newsletter, I’ve only increased the subscription price once (at the beginning of this year), and I need to move to a price that’s more sustainable for me while remaining affordable for you.
The good news is that if you get an annual subscription over the next few weeks, you’ll lock in the current $66 price for a year.
I’m hoping to cover the NDP leadership convention in late March in Winnipeg, which is going to cost me around $1,500 for flights and accommodations. In order to reach that total, I need 23 new annual subscriptions at the current rate.
So if you’ve been thinking of becoming a paid Orchard subscriber and haven’t yet, or want to support coverage of the federal NDP convention you won’t see elsewhere, now’s your chance.
Elsewhere
At Canada’s National Observer, I reported on the UCP membership’s rejection of Premier Danielle Smith’s memorandum of understanding with the federal government.
I went on Jake Landau Is Tired to talk about covering Indigenous issues as a settler, Alberta separatism, political wrangling over flawed anti-hate legislation and more.
