The NDP is doing WHAT!!! Seriously !???I

Let's just say that if I see anyone bent over with their "ear to the ground" I will wind up my size 9 tootsie and give them a swift kick in the you-know-what!

And what does the Federal NDP have to say....Not that the mainstream media will ever, ever ask Avi Lewis anything.

Given how cavalierly most Canadians dumped any loyalty to our third party, and went with the Central banker cutting back climate policies, and speeding up construction of expensive and dangerous ideas such as the Darlington small modular reactors (needs enriched uranium...most of which I believe the west gets from Russia)..........I'd argue that we're lucky if what's left of the NDP has any voice or influence at all.................in the new fantasy plans Canada has to become an 'Energy superpower" and damn the Climate Emergency.

We do get what we vote for.

Part of the problem is a lot of people don't seem to realize that neoliberalism is not very centrist at all. On the contrary, it's a throwback to Victorians like Jeremy Bentham who (if I recall correctly) invented the flogging machine... It was resuscitated by Hayek and co. and billed as conservative by Thatcher and Reagan.

Trots in Sturgeon County?

End times, indeed!

I was reminded in a not good way of a political slogan from the 1980s... maybe a Malcolm Mayes cartoon?

"Ralph Klein -- He listens; he cares"

How well did that go?

There are just too many unknowns with these data centres....and its not just how much water will be used, or where the electricity is coming from (fossil gas most likely, in other words, methane, a greenhouse gas 80 times more potent than CO2. There's also the question of who programs the algorithms and with what biases? And then there's the stories we're hearing about AI hallucinating (lying) when it isn't sure of the answer, and the recent news about how AI is independently breaking into other systems.

Let's end with the death of all those Iranian kids.....11 and 12, mostly girls. Trump tried to blame it on the Iranians themselves, suggesting they may have got their hands on an American Tomahawk missile and done it to their own people. But then we learned there was more than one missile attack...the second and third taking out the first responders....and the icing on the cake: A FIVE YEAR OLD AI ALGORITHM CHOSE THE SITE.......UNAWARE THAT IN THE INTERIM, THE MILITARY ESTABLISHMENT HAD GIVEN WAY TO A GIRL'S SCHOOL.

So if you pay attention to the news, as we do, it suggests these AI bots need constant refreshing, as the real world changes, sometimes rapidly, in real time. But who's going to pay to educate all of the actual experts needed to keep the algorithms up to date???

We're currently cutting back on all our health and educational needs in order to buy those American F-35s......possibly without the radar component, thanks to the war in Iran....and spending big bucks on other 'too big not to fail' hardware manufactured by the same imploding Empire that's bringing us these AI data nightmares.

What's not to fear in this latest bubble mania??? Last I heard, none of these AI fantasies have made a profit, but they do suck up money at a truly efficient rate.

As they intend to do, with our electricity and potable water.
