Thank you Jeremy for sharing facts & news with another eye opening informative report on the Alberta separation and referendum issue. The quote from the loud minority is very telling about today’s dystopian world:

“No one has a monopoly on truth, and our system is predicated on the faith that in the marketplace of ideas, the best solution to public problems will rise to the top,” Dobson said. “Inevitably, there will be dissenting voices.”

People now have a license to Trump marketplace ideas and make facts and truth relative. ‘Injustice is okay if there are dissenting voices.’ Thank you independent media for quelling misinformation and disinformation.

What I find most disturbing about this article is the degree to which Danielle Smith's government is willing to create new legislation to enable procedures that would not be able to get off the ground without this form of governance by decree.

In enabling a process that is doomed to fail in the long term, the UCP government is encouraging fantasy thinking and grassroots engagement in a process that wastes both time and money..........a form of dithering that distracts Albertans from the very real issues and challenges we face.

Albertans aren't going to vote to leave Canada. A large majority of us want nothing to do with the failed mega state to the south of us.......as they continue to posture, gesticulate and practise governance by bullying and bravado, Canadians are grateful for our more equalitarian society.

Most of us want more solidarity, equality and support for our young people, trying to make their way in a world becoming unaffordable for the many, while war and resource extraction benefit the few. We want investment in our schools and hospitals, training programs for our young who'd like to become the professionals and well paid workers of a sustainable future.

Running about our province waving flags and signing petitions for this that or the other thing.......is mostly posturing. We need governments that do their homework, work hard for all the people, and steer clear of the angry posturing that is making us the laughing stock of Canada.

As for our native citizens: they were here first, so perhaps we should give them a veto over crazy white trash talk and get back to focusing on what's important in reality. We have real work to do, in Alberta and in Canada. Danielle notwithstanding.
