What exactly do you do when the tide of history is turning against you?
Decades of being advantaged turn out to have been part of the illusions engendered by one horse industries........like the petroleum industry. But now, climate science is gathering momentum, aided in large part by the extreme weather events scientists predicted, having arrived, and those unclosed wells turn out to be liabilities leaking methane.......the chief component of another Alberta get rich quick illusion....LNG....
And methane turns out to be leaking at 7 times the rate industry is reporting. And those unclosed wells are public liabilities. And the boreal is burning...more every summer. And what about those heat domes? And....
What the F....!!! Let's just blame it all on Trudeau...or Carney....or ???
And make our own country out of those tailings ponds.........and whatever else remains of the once vaunted Alberta Advantage!!! Carbon Capture? EOR?? Open pit mountain top removal???
Sure its a hard sell. But what's the alternative???
40+ years of Conservative Rule does not many smart roads forward leave...so...let's pick up what marbles we can from pensions and such, and ....leave???
